Applying the experience of the Radian development to the 82-degree Nagler series yielded more contrast, less pincushion, more true field and longer eye-relief in 12mm, 17mm and 22mm focal lengths. With added eye-relief the click-stop instadjust eyeguard helps maintain proper eye placement.
For deep-sky viewing, the comfort, clarity and contrast gets us closer to the 'spacewalk' viewing goal.
This is a somewhat smaller, lighter and more powerful version of the celebrated 31mm Type 5 Nagler. Produced in response to demands from customers, it weighs about 1.6lbs and has a field stop diameter of 35mm.
The 27mm is lighter and smaller than the 35mm. It provides more magnification and darker sky background, yet still allows full field viewing with eyeglasses. It's perfect for any telescope size, type or speed with a 2" focuser. With the Genesis-sdf, it gives 20x and a true field over three degrees.
The unique 6-element design of the 31mm Type 5, using four exotic glasses, maintains the contrast advantage of the Type 4s while achieving a true field 82% larger than the 22mm Type 4.
The 35mm has the largest true field, with plenty of eye-relief for eyeglass wearers.
When combined with a Paracorr, to correct the coma of a Newtonian, performance is spectacular across the 68-degree field. Expect to get sharp star clusters, right out to the edge of the field.
A 'must' for deep-sky fans. This eyepiece has the largest true field possible in a 2" eyepiece holder - three times the field area of any 1.25" eyepiece. Performance with Schmidt-Cassegrains is remarkable, since it avoids the image degradations and severe vignetting which occurs when using telecompressors. Long eye-relief for eyeglass wearers, and a unique adjustable height eyeguard make for great comfort.
