Meade Barlow Lenses and TeleXtenders

Barlow Lenses and TeleXtenders are used to increase the magnification of the image you see or record on a camera. Barlow lenses are relatively simple diverging lenses and most commonly increase magnification by 2x. TeleXtenders use more complex optics to provide better quality images and are more suitable for higher powers.

#126 2x Short Focus Barlow Lens Ref: MEA-07273

Only 2.5" long, the #126 works well with any telescope accepting 1.25" eyepieces, even those with limited focal range, and maintains the high image quality usually associated with longer Barlow lenses. Can be used in front of the diagonal to give 3x magnification.

Variable Projection Tele-Extender Ref: MEA-07348

The Variable Projection Tele-extender is designed for eyepiece projection photography at the rear cell of an SCT. A sliding mechanism enables the distance from the eyepiece to the film plane to be varied thus changing the size of the image. The effect can be likened to zooming and is particularly useful in high-resolution lunar and planetary imaging.

It can be used with most plossl and similar-sized eyepieces up to about 25mm in focal length.
