Celestron CGE Pro Telescopes

Celestron have improved their well-respected CGE mount to give a payload capacity of 90 lbs, making it one of the most stable german equatorial mounts in its class. It can be supplied with Celestron's 9.25, 11 and 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tubes to provide an excellent visual and imaging telescope.

A host of internal improvements and features now make this an extremely stable platform for long-exposure imaging. Pointing and tracking accuracy are excellent and the mount is designed to be easy to set up and align. Accurate polar alignment can be achieved even if you can't see the pole star. Coupled with the ability to remove the optical tube, this makes the CGE telescopes suitable for taking to dark skies and setting up in any location.

They also make superb observatory telescopes.

CGE Pro 9.25 Telescope Ref: DH-11086

CELESTRON 11086

The CGE Pro 925 is the most portable telescope in this range. It collects 33% more light than an 8-inch telescope but is as easy to handle as a fork-mounted 8-inch SCT because the optical tube can be removed from the mount and drives.

The extra capacity of the CGE mount means you can load up the scope with all your imaging gear without worrying about its weight - and balancing it easier than on a fork mount.

The picture shows the 14-inch version; the 9.25 looks similar but with a smaller tube.

The CGE Pro 1100 is perhaps the most popular size telescope in this range. It collects twice as much light as an 8-inch telescope but is easier to handle than a fork-mounted 10-inch SCT because the optical tube can be removed from the mount and drives.

The extra capacity of the CGE mount means you can load up the scope with all your imaging gear without worrying and balancing is easy.

The CGE 1100 can be adapted to take Hyperstar for fast, wide-field imaging using the Hyperstar convertor.

The picture shows the 14-inch version; the 9.25 looks similar but with a smaller tube.

The CGE Pro 1400 is the largest telescope in this range. It collects 60 % more light than an 11-inch telescope but can still be assembled quickly and easily.

The extra capacity of the CGE mount means you can load up the scope with all your imaging gear without worrying and balancing is easy.

This version (11088) of the CGE 1400 can be adapted to take Hyperstar for fast, wide-field imaging using the Hyperstar convertor. Alternatively, choose model 11089 which is the Fastar-Compatible version and is ready to take Hyperstar.
