The filter set is supplied in a two hard cases with die-cut foam filling - no need for fussing with small separate cases in the dark.

CELESTRON The Polarizing Filter Set is intended for visual use. It`s particularly useful for reducing glare while observing the moon, double stars, the planets and terrestrial subjects – all without affecting the color of the object being observed.
The Filter Set is comprised of two filters that thread into either the eyepiece or the filter adapter, which comes with the set. When one filter is used alone, you get 30% light transmission. When both filters are used together, you can vary the degree of transmission. By causing the amount of transmitted light to vary, the filters become, in effect, a continuously variable neutral density filter. At maximum density, the Polarizing Filter Set transmits only 5% of entering light.

ASTRONOMIK The transmission curves of the Astronomik RGB filters are optimised for CCD- astronomy: With this filter-set we finally make true colour pictures of all objects possible. Continuum emitters like stars and galaxies as well as objects that shine only in single lines (e.g. planetary nebulae), are reproduced in their true colours. Because of the design of the band pass of the filters, the colour sensitivity of the human eye is optimally reproduced. You get CCD pictures that show the object just as you would see it if your eye were sensitive enough.

The Astronomik Type II filter will permit colour pictures without an extra IR- cutoff filter, because each of the three filter is blocked near the infrared (~1150nm). All three filter have the same thickness, so that colour images without refocussing between individual images is possible. They are designed to work with nearly all CCD sensors available on the market. With these sensors you get pictures with a very good color balance.
