Meade's Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optical system provides sharper images and a flatter field than a traditional Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. This makes it more suitable for today's imaging systems as well as providing better visual performance.
The LX90 is an excellent choice for your first serious telescope. Beginners will find it easy to use and will soon be looking at the night sky's best sights. Experienced observers will be delighted by the quality of the images.
The 8-inch model is easy for the average person to manage on their own. The 10-inch is a bit heavier and bulkier so takes more effort but is still manageable. Some people handle the 12-inch alone but be sure to check you are happy and able to do so before choosing it, unless you plan a permanent installation.
The most popular model in the LX90 series, the 8-inch offers an aperture large enough for serious deep-sky observing to make your exploration of the night sky easy and more rewarding. Position the sturdy tripod where you plan to observe, attach the telescope, switch on and you are ready to align. This simple process is quickly completed and you are then ready to observe the wonders that await you.
Features:
A 10-inch telescope collects half as much light again as an 8-inch giving you more photons per pound, so if you can handle the extra weight and bulk, this telescope is well-worth considering. In good atmospheric conditions you will see more detail too.
If you are planning a permanent installation, or can handle its size, the 12-inch is the ultimate telescope in the LX90 range. Collecting two and a quarter times as much light as an 8-inch telescope and 44% more than a 10-inch it will take you deeper and fainter, revealing more detail and more objects.
