Astromaster Telescopes

AstroMaster Telescopes are ideal for anyone wanting to take their first steps in astronomy. They will show lots of detail on our Moon, the rings around Saturn, Jupiter's cloud belts and larger moons, and examples of all the deep-sky objects such as galaxies, nebulae and star clusters.

All models are easy to assemble and require no tools. Permanently mounted star-pointers and erect-image optics make it easy to find and follow your targets. Sturdy tripods and equatorial mounts ensure stable images.

The optics are coated for maximum throughput and provide clear, sharp images. Sky Level 1 software with a 10,000 object database and enhanced images will help you plan your observing session and learn about the objects you observe,

Astromaster 114 EQ-ShortAstromaster 114 EQ-Short Ref: DH-31042
  • CELESTRON

The Astromaster 114 EQ-Short is a Newtonian Reflecting Telescope with a four-and-a-half-inch aperture, equatorial mount and adjustable tripod. The telescope aperture is large enough to show all the popular objects that new astronomers want to see, from mountains, craters and riills on the Moon, to planets, galaxies and a vast array of deep-sky objects.

The equatorial mount with its slow-motion controls, simplifies the task of locating your target then following it as the Earth rotates. The adjustable tripod allows you to set the eyepiece to a comfortable height for children or adults.

Two eyepieces are supplied to give magnifications. of 50x and 100x. 50x is a good balance between field-of-view and magnification and is the eyepiece you will start with and use most of the time. 100x will allow you to see more detail on brighter objects such as the Moon, and to split close binary stars into their two components.

This is an excellent first telescope, either for an older child or an adult taking their first steps in astronomy.
