Takahashi Teegul Sky Patrol III Equatorial Mount

The Teegul Sky-Patrol III (TG-SP3) mount offers a light and effective equatorial base for travelling with a small telescope It attaches to a standard camera tripod.

The TG-SP3 is a very modular unit. It is made of a rigid one-arm fork mount motorized in right ascension, ideal for example for the FS-60CB refractor. A handbox with integral 6V compartment is included.

An additional kit makes it possible to use the TG-SP3 with other light telescopes (under 3kg weight). This kit can be bought with the TG-SP3 mount as a package or bought separately. This kit includes a counterweight shaft and counterweight in order to transform the TG-SP3 base into a true German mount. Using this kit will give you some clearance on both axes, RA and DEC, allowing the assembly of longer telescope OTAs.

TAKAHASHI Camera Plate for Sky Patrol III. It replaces the base usually used for the installation of the tube ring. It thus becomes possible to carry out imaging, without guiding, with SLR/DSLR or CCD cameras equipped with short focal length lenses.

Sky Patrol III in Use

The illustration shows the FS-60 Telescope mounted on a Sky Patrol III. Note the use of the V-Adaptor to tilt the head. Polar alignment can then be achieved by adjusting the tripod legs. Alternatively, use the Tripod Adaptor Head (TSH60100) if you prefer.
