A4 Sheet of AstroSolar Film (ND 5.0)A4 Sheet of AstroSolar Film (ND 5.0) Ref: DH-2459281
  • BAADER

AstroSolar film has become the natural first choice for white-light solar observation. Its optical qualities are excellent, enabling you to see high-resolution images with a natural colour. It is tough and durable, very difficult to tear, but cuts easily to make the shape you need. Use it with confidence on telescopes, binoculars or camera lenses. Comes with full instructions for using 'Blue Peter Technology' to make a removable solar filter.

The filter will allow you to observe sun-spots, surface granulation, limb darkening and faculae.

1 Metre x 0.5 Metre Roll. This is similar to the Astrosolar film used for visual use but does not attenuate the light as much. It provides a brighter image to allow faster shutter speeds that will reduce the effect of atmospheric turbulence.

This film is for photographic use only and must not be used for visual observation.

Price: £55.00 (Including VAT at 20%)

1.27 Metre x 0.51 Metre Roll. This is the base material used for the Astrosolar film but without the coating. It is extremely thin and has very little effect on the quality of the image. It is often used to make a protective cap for the telescope which can be left in place while observing. It will help to keep dust from falling onto the main optics.

This is purely a protective film that does not attenuate the light. It is not a solar filter.
