Takahashi TOA-130With its Ortho-Apochromat Triplet (TOA) concept, Takahashi gives a new lease of life to large diameter refractors. Increasingly large and increasingly powerful CCD cameras place greater demands on these telescopes requiring them to be much more general-purpose and compact. The TOA-130 combines the extraordinary image contrast and the absence of chromatism of the apochromatic refractor with a large diameter and a reasonable focal length. This produces a telescope that is equally suitable for general-purpose use, planetary high-resolution and deep sky imaging. In this last area, its optical design enables it to fully exploit the capabilities of all imagers on the market (35mm SLR/DSLR or 6x7 cameras as well as wide-field CCD imagers). The TOA-130 is available in the S version, with traditional rack-and-pinion focuser, and in the F version, with oversized rack-and-pinion focuser (and camera angle adjuster), perfectly adapted for imaging. For this optical tube of 1015mm in length, 130mm in diameter and almost 10kg in weight, we recommend an EM-200 or EM-400 equatorial mount. |
