This image really high-lights the difference in size between the Sun and Mercury Note that Mercury appears almost 1.8 times bigger than it really is because it is nearer to us than the Sun

Jamie Cooper took this image with a Nikon Coolpix and a Meade ETX-90EC fitted with a 'white light' solar filter. He used a Scopetronix Digi-T system to mount the camera onto the ETX's 26mm Plossl eyepiece. The levels and colour balance were adjusted using Photoshop.
